Geometric ImagesHighly Detailed Visualizations Our geometric images are derived from digital elevation models (DEMs) to increase the accuracy and visual detail of the terrain. Based on the NEXTMap® 3D elevation datasets, the images accentuate topographic features while providing precise geographic information and include: Orthorectified radar image (ORI) — a grayscale image of the earth's surface that has been corrected to remove geometric distortions in our original DEM. The detail of topographic characteristics far exceeds that of aerial photography. ererwewe
Elevation shaded image (ESI) — a multi-spectral image composed of a DEM overlaid with high-resolution aerial images to provide highly accurate elevation information as well as a true visual representation of the terrain that cannot be duplicated with ordinary images. The ESI enhances various applications that call for realistic and aesthetically pleasing images such as personal navigation devices and in-dash automobile navigation systems.
