Digital Elevation Models (DEMs)Proprietary mapping technology creates superior DEMs The high-quality 3D digital mapping data afforded by our proprietary airborne interferometric synthetic aperture radar (IFSAR) technology meet the demanding needs of a wide range of geospatial applications, such as base mapping, watershed analysis, image rectification, and line-of-sight analysis. Our IFSAR DEMs, collected as part of our NEXTMap® countrywide mapping program, are predominantly accurate to 1 vertical meter and include:
Digital surface model (DSM) - a first-reflective-surface model that contains cultural features such as buildings, roads, vegetation, and natural terrain features. The key benefit of the DSM is that it provides a geometrically correct base map. Digital terrain model (DTM) - a bare-earth model in which cultural features such as buildings, roads, and vegetation canopy are digitally removed. Intermap has two versions of DTMs available — to learn more, see "DTM v1.0 & DTM v1.5" information.
Intermap's DEMs are included in our NEXTMap countrywide mapping program that includes all of Western Europe, the contiguous United States and Hawaii, and much of Southeast Asia.
