INTERMAP CREATES NEW DIGITAL 3D MAP FOR THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA

News Releases

19 Jan, 2006 Denver, Colorado (January 19, 2006): Intermap Technologies Corp. (IMP:TSX) announced today that it has created a new digital three-dimensional map of the state of California. This is the most accurate three-dimensional color map ever produced of the state.

The feature-rich data, which includes terrain models and color imagery, can be used for many applications including geographical information systems (GIS), engineering planning, transportation, automotive, navigation, flood, irrigation, environmental management and planning, telecommunications network planning, aviation, simulation and 3D visualization. The data can also be used to enhance the value of airborne and satellite imagery.

"California was an important state for us to complete, given its large economy and diverse landscape," commented Garth Lawrence, Intermap's senior vice president of business operations. "This year as we continue with our NEXTMap USA program, we are planning to map Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, New Mexico and other highly populated areas of the US. By the end of the year, we plan to have data for over 25 percent of the United States available for sale through our online Intermap Store. At the same time, we will initiate our NEXTMap Europe program with the planned completion of Germany prior to year end."

As part of its NEXTMap USA program to create the most accurate digital 3D map of the entire United States, Intermap has already mapped Florida, Mississippi, Hawaii and portions of many other states. California, having a size of over 423,000 square kilometers, is the largest state mapped by Intermap thus far. With the addition of California, Intermap now has data for over 1 million square kilometers (nearly 15 percent) of the United States available for purchase.
