Intermap Technologies Delivering 3D Data to Riverside County California Through SAWPA Contract

News Releases

12 Mar, 2007 DENVER (March 12, 2007): Intermap Technologies Corp. (TSX: IMP.TO, AIM: IMAP.L) today announced it has been awarded a contract for delivering high resolution digital terrain model elevation data by the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA) for use by Riverside County. The agreement was secured through the Company's data distribution partner, CyberCity 3D LLC.

Under the terms of the contract, Intermap will deliver high-resolution 5-meter posted / 1-meter vertical accuracy bare earth elevation data, 4-foot contours, and Global Mapper software.  The data currently resides in the Company's NEXTMap® USA archive and will be delivered incrementally over the next three months. The total value of the contract is $437,000.

The highly accurate 3D data will become the county's base map, enabling it to precisely orthorectify aerial imagery and perform geospatial projects throughout the county (one of the fastest-growing counties in the state of California) for years to come. Additionally, the value derived to support SAWPA initiatives within the county are vital as the organization works toward protecting the water quality of the Santa Ana River watershed.

“We are pleased with Riverside County and SAWPA's decision to utilize our NEXTMap® USA off-the-shelf data for such an important project,” commented Garth Lawrence, senior vice president of operations for Intermap Technologies. “Using our high-quality digital elevation data is the most cost-effective method of obtaining accurate wide-area elevation data available. This will prove to be a tremendous benefit for the taxpayers of the region as the county moves forward on solving the challenge of supplying sufficient high-quality water for its growing population.”
