Intermap’s 3D Roads for Energy Management and Safety / ADAS Applications
Serving as a basis for energy management, safety, and ADAS applications, 3D Roads provide highly accurate data about every road in a country. Due to the inherent advantages of remote aerial sensing, the 3D Roads product captures all roads, including major highways and small rural and neighborhood streets. Compared to traditional maps, which are developed with patchwork-like methods, Intermap’s 3D Roads are derived from a completely homogeneous dataset and offer geometric accuracies significantly better than other maps used for navigation. In addition to offering its own product, Intermap also can combine 3D Roads with other vendors’ maps to produce a comprehensive product tailored to specific project needs.
Intermap’s DEM for 3D In-Dash Visualization Applications
Comprehensive and accurate 3D DEMs can be integrated into a vehicle’s in-dash navigation system to enhance its orientation, representation of surroundings, and visualization. Such 3D elements can significantly improve the user-friendliness, perceived value, and competitiveness of the navigation system. The DEM and its derived products can also serve as the optimal base layer for geo-referencing other maps’ layers and 3D objects such as buildings and landmarks. Furthermore, Intermap offers shaded imagery products with which 2D objects can be made to appear 3D and can be used more easily by existing systems.
