Intermap & Mentum Partnership Results In Five New Telecom Customers

News Releases

29 Jun, 2012 DENVER , CO, June 29, 2012 - Intermap (IMP.TO), a leading provider of location-based information (LBI) solutions created from its uniform, high-resolution 3D digital models of the earth's surface called NEXTMap; and Mentum, the industry's leading wireless access and backhaul network planning and optimization company, today announced that five telecommunications companies have now become customers of the partnership.

On December 13, 2011 , Intermap and Mentum announced a partnership designed to accelerate the delivery of a new generation of height-attributed land-use geodata that addresses the propagation modeling needs of the wireless industry. The product offering, Cityscapes HD, offers an unmatched level of X, Y and Z accuracy at a price point that enables network operators to manage the large geographical areas required by today's wireless networks. Compared to existing products, Cityscapes HD is the cost-effective solution for the accurate height of vegetation and man-made structures called clutter, for a broad geographic region. Cityscapes HD is offered at a native resolution of 15m and is available in the USA, Western Europe and parts of Asia.

"We're pleased with the initial results of our strategic partnership with Mentum and our plans call for more joint sales efforts as we continue to focus on additional 3D business intelligence opportunities," said Todd Oseth president and CEO Intermap. "If you're a wireless network operator, this partnership and the Cityscapes HD product offers the missing ingredient that you need to optimize your network: true clutter height data instantly available across large distances. In addition to our first five customers, we are anticipating there will be other wireless telecommunication companies that will purchase this valuable Cityscapes HD product in the future."

"Cityscapes HD is the culmination of Mentum's and Intermap's combined research and development efforts," said Bernard Breton , Chief Operating & Strategy Officer at Mentum. "This partnership has resulted in the design of a suitable product for wireless network operators who plan, build and run networks in sprawling metropolitan areas where both man-made structures and vegetation play an important role in defining propagation characteristics."
