NEXTMap World 30™ Sales Surpass $1 Million on Demand Growth in 2013

Posted by Rich Mohr

Jan 10, 2014 9:00:00 AM

- World 30 Sales Year-Over-Year Grow Over 15 Times in 2013 -

DENVER , Jan. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - Intermap Technologies (IMP.TO), (ITMSF:BB), a leading provider of geospatial solutions on-demand created from its uniform, high-resolution 3D digital models of the earth's surface, today announced that its NEXTMap World 30 product surpassed sales of $1.2M in 2013, more than 15 times 2012 sales. World 30 is the world's first and only seamless digital map of the entire earth with a global accuracy of 7-meters.

The latest version of the World 30 product, announced August 21, 2013 , is up to three times more accurate than competing global Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) such as NASA's Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data and Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) Global Digital Elevation Model (GDEM). The World 30 dataset integrates seamlessly with Intermap's Orion Platform and provides a foundation data layer for the Company's web-based 3D Business Intelligence (3DBI®) applications including flood planning, advertising, telecommunications and risk management. World 30 enables the immediate delivery of the Company's 3DBI applications anywhere in the world.

"One of the most exciting features of our World 30 product is that it can be purchased, downloaded and used in the same day," said Todd Oseth , Intermap's president and CEO. "We've also started to see World 30 purchases as the first step in the implementation of larger Orion-based spatial data infrastructure projects around the world. It's clear that World 30 purchases can be an indicator of a customer's future interest in Intermap's other products and services."

The three key benefits of World 30 are:

  • Accuracy: The improved World 30 v2.0 DEM utilizes over 204 million ground control points with an accuracy of 25cm RMSE or better, to control the vertical elevation of an aggregated surface model derived from ASTER GDEM v2, SRTM v2.1 and GTOPO30. The corrected DEMs were combined with Intermap's proprietary data fusion technology, to create a seamless, void-filled and consistent dataset with a global accuracy of 7 meters RMSE.
  • Coverage: Intermap has applied its extensive terrain elevation knowledge and data fusion capabilities to create an application-ready product for the entire globe. All voids or anomalies found in the native SRTM or ASTER data have been meticulously removed and repaired in the World 30 dataset.
  • Access: Data is available instantly: (1) via the cloud as an Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) compliant Web Map Service (WMS) or Web Coverage Service (WCS) dataset, (2) via API, or (3) for purchase at Intermap's WebStore

A sample of NEXTMap World 30 v2.0 can be found at http://www.intermap.com/solutions/World30.aspx

Intermap® Announces US$368,000 NEXTMap® Solution Sale

Posted by Rich Mohr

Jul 27, 2012 8:30:00 AM

DENVER , July 27, 2012 - Intermap (IMP.TO), a leading provider of location-based information (LBI) solutions created from its uniform, high-resolution 3D digital models of the earth's surface called NEXTMap, today announced that it has received a $368,000 contract for the creation of a new elevation data set for the Malaysian Government. The imagery and elevation data will be used for mapping and infrastructure development in Malaysia.

This new elevation data set is derived from Intermap's industry leading and proprietary data fusion process. The fused data combines the temporal immediacy of a new satellite collection with the precise accuracy of Intermap's NEXTMap Malaysia data archive. Intermap's data fusion process integrates stereo pairs of radar satellite imagery with existing NEXTMap data via the company's ISO-certified editing processes.

"Intermap's data fusion capabilities are becoming more and more valuable in the marketplace as customers embrace the power of Intermap's total solutions capabilities," said Todd Oseth, Intermap's president and CEO. "With Intermap's data fusion process, our customers have the capability of integrating disparate data into a unified and meaningful solution that will help them derive the data-driven answers that they require. Our complete solutions approach allows our customers to move beyond single source raw data and provide front end and back end solutions to their geospatial needs. We call this total solutions approach 3DBI, or 3D business intelligence."

Due to persistent cloud cover, traditional satellite and airborne optical imagery is not available for Malaysia. Intermap has consistently provided a solution by using its IFSAR radar mapping in Malaysia which is not affected by cloud cover. As a result, Intermap's NEXTMap Malaysia program is used by all branches of the Malaysian Government. The new fused data will be provided through Intermap's Malaysian channel partner, DES Mapping Solutions SdnBhd and MK Surveys.

Intermap® Introduces NEXTMap® World 30™, The World’s Most Accurate Global Terrain Product

Posted by Rich Mohr

Jun 5, 2012 9:30:00 AM

-- Pricing As Low As $0.01 Per Square Kilometer --

DENVER-- Intermap (IMP.TO), a leading provider of 3D Business Intelligence (3DBI) solutions and Location Based Information (LBI), today announced the release of NEXTMap World 30, the first and only commercial 3D terrain product to provide seamless, void free coverage, with a 30 meter ground sampling distance, across the entire 150 million square kilometers of the Earth’s surface.

Satellite images provide 2D datasets, which are not always sufficient for business planning purposes or government feasibility studies. Filling the void for accurate and reliable height data, Intermap’s NEXTMap World 30 offers the most comprehensive digital surface models for the entire world. The NEXTMap World 30 dataset can benefit planners in multiple industries including telecommunications, energy, agriculture, risk planning, water management, topographic mapping, military and a host of government services.

The key benefits of NEXTMap World 30 include:

Most Accurate: NEXTMap World 30 aggregates data from ASTER, SRTM and GTOPO using worldwide control, combined with Intermap’s proprietary data fusion technology, to create the most seamless, void-filled and consistent dataset with accuracies starting at 5 meters.

Most Comprehensive: Other products available in the market offer up to only 30 percent of the Earth’s surface. With NEXTMap World 30, customers have available to them 100 percent coverage of the earth’s surface. The combination of photogrammetry, interferometry and LiDAR technologies provides the most detailed and current elevations of the entire Earth.

Most Affordable: NEXTMap World 30 pricing can be as low as $0.01 per square kilometer.
Most Updated: NEXTMap World 30 is regularly enhanced with the very latest and best elevation data. Under the NEXTMap Maintenance program, customers can enjoy regular NEXTMap World 30 updates automatically.

Most Flexible: NEXTMap World 30 is ideal for applications such as image orthorectification, line-of-sight calculations, feature extraction and topographic map development, flood risk management, infrastructure planning, precision farming, emergency response and 3D visualization.

Instant Delivery: Order today and receive it today (based on the volume of data purchased).

A data sample of NEXTMap World 30 is available at http://www.intermap.com/solutions/World30.aspx.

For immediate pricing and delivery, please contact an Intermap channel partner or Lisa Duke in the U.S. at 1-720-974-3284.

“The availability of Intermap’s NEXTMap World 30 product will have a tremendous impact on plantation planning and management,” said LF Lee, Managing Director, Agribusiness Publishing Sdn Bhd, in Malaysia. “In the plantation industry, for example, knowledge of land elevation and bare ground or terrain elevations is essential to identifying and screening out unsuitable areas initially; and for planning of infrastructures, land conservation measures and drainage requirements later on. Unfortunately, most developing countries—where plantation projects are usually located—only have access to topographic sheets with wide contour intervals of dubious reliability.”

“Intermap’s new NEXTMap World 30 data will definitely fill the void for accurate and reliable height data,” said Perry Mandeville, President of PT Earthline in Jakarta, Indonesia. “With Asia growing so quickly, there is a need for quality 3D geospatial information that 2D satellite images cannot provide.”

“NEXTMap World 30 is an excellent way for governments and commercial enterprises to cost-effectively perform their important elevation work,” said Todd Oseth, Intermap president and CEO. “We’re looking forward to bringing the benefits of NEXTMap World 30 to customers and partners everywhere.”

Intermap Releases NEXTMap® Web Store 2.0

Posted by Rich Mohr

Feb 13, 2012 3:30:00 PM

Intermap (TSX:IMP.TO - News), a leading provider of 3D Business Intelligence (3DBI) solutions created from its uniform, high-resolution 3D digital models and orthorectified imagery of the Earth’s surface, today announces the launch of its NEXTMap® Web Store 2.0.

“What's really amazing about the new NEXTMap Web Store is that we can upload GIS boundary files and have superior 5-meter resolution DEMs faster than we can get the USGS NED 10-meter data,” said Carl Moczydlowsky, GIS director for enXco Development. “The accuracy and precision of the NEXTMap data allows us to leverage a much smaller investment than traditional LiDAR, much earlier in the project. We are Intermap customers for the foreseeable future.”

Offering an expanded suite of hosted tools, Intermap’s Web Store 2.0 gives even those unfamiliar with geographic information systems (GIS) the ability to quickly and easily download terrain data based on an area of interest (AOI), or access their county and state via OGC subscription services.

“We've appreciated the new functionality Intermap has implemented in the NEXTMap Web Store, especially the ability to view and print reports of all our orders,” said Jim McPherson, GISP, RBF Consulting, a Company of Michael Baker Corporation. “Having this reporting tool is critical in project tracking and has helped us tremendously.”

New NEXTMap WebStore 2.0 features include:

Data Provisioning: Subscribers to Intermap Web Services receive regular data updates and can access their content using their current Web browsers, through desktop software like ArcGIS, Global Mapper, SocetGXP, or via an application that leverages the Intermap Web Services software developers kit (SDK).

Metadata: Based on user feedback, customers can now easily view data acquisition and publishing dates, and both the horizontal and vertical data. The full metadata fields can also be downloaded prior to purchase in either HTML or XML formats.

New Data Layers: Customers can gain quick access to the Intermap team for other available data layers, including custom contours, slope and aspect maps, 3D roads, hillshade images, road and trail networks, hydrology, coastlines, and data fusion services.
Google® Maps Integration: Provides customers a familiar interface to view Intermap’s leading-edge GIS data.

Streamlined Billing: Offers customers a one-time or ongoing subscription access to Intermap’s NEXTMap products, services, and tools from any location worldwide. Pricing information is now available in USD, Euros, or Pounds, and notes or annotations can be added to any purchase receipts.

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of our new NEXTMap WebStore,” said Todd Oseth Intermap president and CEO. “Our new store delivers a streamlined shopping experience and plenty of exciting new features that customers and partners have requested.”
