The huge fires in [Tennessee last autumn](https://www.intermap.com/risks-of-hazard-blog/2016/11/wildfires-at-thanksgiving) didn’t change that, and the [January fires in Florida](https://www.intermap.com/risks-of-hazard-blog/2017/03-wildfire-season-starts-always) didn’t either. Maybe this is the year that [wildfire analytics](https://www.intermap.com/hubfs/pdf/technical-papers/AP%20No-Harm%20V3%20Insurance_2017.pdf?t=1499710292491) catch on. Maybe [the western states](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jul/10/thousands-flee-wildfires-california-canada-nevada-arizona-oregon) will lead the movement. Maybe it’ll be the Canadian carriers, with [B.C. in a state of emergency](http://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/b-c-wildfires-live-10000-evacuated-as-crews-battle-220-forest-fires) with 10,000 people evacuated already this summer.
